Nakeisha Zambetto

Graduate, 2022

Nakeisha graduated from Elanora State High School in 2022 and now works as a Paralegal in the Personal Injury department at Attwood Marshall Lawyers. Her journey with the firm began in 2023 after completing a work experience placement in the Admin team shortly after finishing school. This initial opportunity opened the door to a rewarding career in law, a path that first sparked her interest during Legal Studies in high school.

She began studying Legal Studies in Year 10 and continued through to Year 12. While she acknowledges that it was a challenging subject, Nakeisha enjoyed the rigour and saw it as an opportunity to grow. The class became a space for both learning and collaboration with friends. Over three years, she was introduced to a variety of legal topics and also developed essential skills in writing, referencing, and formatting. Assignments quickly became her favourite part—she particularly enjoyed the research and planning involved, often finding surprising new information and enjoying the chance to discuss her findings with classmates.

In addition to her senior schooling, Nakeisha also completed a Diploma of Business, which has proven to be incredibly valuable in her current role. The diploma equipped her with practical skills in using computers and Microsoft Office programs like Excel and Word—an advantage in any professional setting. Combining her business knowledge with her legal foundation helped her secure a role in the legal field without the need for a university degree at this stage.

Without a clear career direction upon graduating, Nakeisha embraced the opportunity to work as an administrative assistant. Within two years, she had developed the skills and experience necessary to step into a paralegal position. She is now a valued member of the Personal Injury team, where her responsibilities include taking enquiries, drafting court documents, booking medical appointments, and assisting solicitors with various legal matters.

Nakeisha credits her Legal Studies teacher, Ms Periott, for playing a key role in her journey. Her classroom experience sparked a passion for the legal field that continues to grow every day, both at work and beyond.
